Hosting a House Party is a FUN way to Support Seacoast Outright
What’s a House Party?
A House Party is a social gathering and a fundraiser. Maybe we should call it a FUNraiser! You invite your circle of friends, colleagues, or family, as you would for any social gathering you would host. You let them know that your goal is to raise money for Seacoast Outright. House parties are typically at least two hours long. Yours can be as polished or casual as you like. Weekday night cocktail hours or weekend afternoons are good times to schedule your house party.
A house party is a chance for you:
- to invite your friends and colleagues to learn about the important work that Seacoast Outright does in our community;
- to share your own passion for the work we do;
- to give your guests the opportunity to join you in your support of the work we do by making a donation that is meaningful to them; and
- to play a vital role in strengthening and expanding the accepting culture of the Seacoast,
— and do so all while enjoying the company of the people you like to have around you!

How does the house party fundraiser work?
In the first half of the event guests mingle, chat, and enjoy the fare you’ve prepared. As they arrive they will sign our guest list. This is an important opportunity for us to gather names and current addresses so we can get everyone prompt thank-you notes. It also helps us expand our mailing list to include guest who indicate they’d like to be added. Guests can also look over brochures and material about Seacoast Outright that we’ve set out for their perusal.
After about an hour you will gather your guests for an introduction to Seacoast Outright. This is your chance to share why Seacoast Outright is important to you and why you support our work. Then you can introduce the Seacoast Outright guests you’ve invited—typically the Executive Director, Chair of the Board, and/or youth member of Seacoast Outright.
The Executive Director or Chair will give a little background about the organization and the work we do. The youth member will also share about how Seacoast Outright has impacted their life. This structured time will be about 10 minutes. The Chair or Director will close with a direct ask that guests consider making a financial contribution to Seacoast Outright.
The party continues as you wish. Seacoast Outright folks will stay around to chat, offer information, answer questions, and collect guest’s contributions. They will tell each of your guests who makes a contribution that they can expect a receipt-of-donation letter promptly after the party.
When guests have dwindled, and your quiet returns, thank yourself: Congratulations! You’ve just hosted a successful house party!
