Seacoast Outright is holding the first annual Portsmouth PRIDE event on Saturday, June 27 from 2:00 to 3:30 in downtown Portsmouth. This will become our organization's signature event.
The FAMILY-FRIENDLY event will focus on community support of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, and allied (LGBTQA) youth. The theme, selected by youth, is “You Be You,” a message of acceptance and inclusion that speaks to Seacoast Outright’s mission, as youth perceive it. Participants from six staging areas will walk to Market Square in Portsmouth, with each group wearing one of the six colors of the Rainbow Flag. We plan to arrange for aerial videography of the event to capture the distinctly colored groups as they more from the staging areas to Market Square.
Speakers will briefly address the crowd on the importance of supporting LBGTQA youth and musicians will entertain. Tables with literature and educational materials will be available for participants to browse.
Visit us again for more information about joining the march. We will be providing updates on colors and core groups to each staging area and times for gathering at the staging areas to prepare for the march.
We are very excited to announce that on June 27th Seacoast Outright will be hosting the 1st annual Portsmouth Pride event! We have been working diligently with the city of Portsmouth for the past couple of months to see this come to life. Support has been amazing and we can't wait!
As many of you know, Seacoast Outright has closed the Falkland Place location. As promised, the meeting is still on for this Friday 7-9pm. The location will be at South Church in Portsmouth, NH. There is a small blue house directly behind the church, called the Karnan House. That's where we'll be! I'll put a sign on the door so you'll know you're in the right spot.
